Product of the month

As part of my DT duties, I will be showcasing a Product of the Month. This month it is the Kiki Art fun tape. I received the Antologia Famila and was able to use it for some pictures of our Character breakfast. I used the tape as a type of stiching down the side of the pictures and on the letters in the title. Fun stuff!

Scrapping Turtle DT

YEAH!!!!!! I was offered a 9 month contract position with the Scrapping Turtle, as part of their design team. I am super excited by this opportunity and am humbled by the wonderful girls I am on the team with. It will certainly be a fun 9 months.

May is our first month and I received the new Fancy Pants line, My Family. Here is my sneak peek:

Mom gave me some older family photos when she was up in March. I am hoping to tackle some of them through the next few months. Here is the first one. A picture of my paternal grandparents celebrating 50 years of marriage. Something that is just so rare.

I got some exciting news

but just can't share yet. Can't wait until I can but sufficient to say - I am so THRILLED by the news. More to tell later. I promise, I'll share when I can.

Tomorrow's the day

The girls are just so pumped - just not sure what to do with themselves. Its making it hard to get anything done but how can you blame them? I'm pumped too!
Mike works tomorrow until 5pm. We will be leaving as soon as he gets home and showers. Heading across the border and checking into our hotel. Tomorrow night we will be spending there so we don't have to deal with customs, etc. at 4am. Our plane leaves at 6am on Sunday.
So...see you in a little over a week.

Its coming quickly

our upcoming trip that is. Mom and dad left this morning - they're driving down. They called after supper and made it just short of Washington. Another long day tomorrow and then a shorter one on Saturday. They should make it there about a day ahead of us.
Now that I am officially on vacation. I have been spending time getting everything ready. All the bags have been hunted down and measured (to ensure they fit with the new measurements for luggage). Tomorrow I will be completing the laundry, changing the bedding and starting the piles of packing. On Saturday I will be printing the boarding passes and paying for the luggage surcharges (once I know how many bags we'll have).
Other than these small things, everything is ready to go - especially the girls! They are getting so excited. Laura keeps picking up the Disney books I have been looking through for the past month to "find good stuff".
She came home tonight with her work from school. Perfect way to get her started this weekend with some fun stuff while she's anxious to do it.
For me, I have been spending this evening doing some scrapping. Its calming my nerves but making me feel good. I'll be taking so many pictures this coming week that it feels great to get some of my older ones scrapped. I'll share the pics later if I can get them scanned before I leave.

DT search at Scrapping Turtle

thought I would give it a try. Here are the layouts I completed for the challenge. The first is a double page of our breakfast with Santa in November 2009.

And this one is a picture of Laura from last summer. I wanted to keep the layout really picture focused. Love this paper by Ruby Rock-it. So fun to play with, the distressing is already done.

I know its been awhile

since I last posted. The days have started getting warmer and lighter. There is no snow on the ground and the tulips are starting to poke their way through the ground. We have been enjoying this beautiful weather by getting outside. The girls have gotten out their bikes and scooters. They are having so much fun!

Here are a few layouts I have completed over the last few weeks. I was in a real mojo funk by the end of February and into March. Couldn't find anything inspiring. Over the weekend I worked myself out of it and created these:
