A couple new layouts

using some of the fun new American Crafts paper! Love how vibrant it is!

I created this one for MIU #23. I used American crafts, WeRMemory Keepers, Bazzill, Dew Drop and Zig writer. My handwriting is in the title and the flowers are rubons.

Only a couple days left

and she will officially be in grade 1. Unbelievable, she is growing so fast and this year has truly made some dramatic changes. At the beginning of the year, she knew letters, some phonics, numbers to 20. Now, well its truly amazing me. She reads books - level 1-2 early readers, writes stories, lists, any words she wants, colours in the lines, cuts/ tapes and staples papers together to create books, counts beyond 100, knows her numbers and can tell time. Her vocabulary has expanded exponentially and she is no longer struggling with "fronting" her sounds. The speech therapy this year really helped her out.

She has developed closer friendships through this year too. Its so nice to see these developing and becoming so important to her. Getting phone calls for play dates and handing out her phone number - I'm sure I'll be getting sick of this eventually but right now it is just too cute.

They completed graduation on June 18th. Thought I would share some pictures of her in her graduation hat, receiving her diploma from her teacher.

Laura's new look

Thought I would share some pictures of Laura's new look.

Hard to tell from these pictures but she was so proud of finally losing the tooth. It was loose for almost 2 months but she wouldn't even come close to pulling it out.

Of course, the tooth fairy showed up and that certainly helped the excitement factor. She came into our room on Tuesday morning, unwrapped the money and said "ohhhh". Mike asked "what's the matter?" and she replied "I thought it would be $100". That's my girl!

I lost my baby today!

Not quite, but that's definitely how it feels. Actually, the truth is she lost her first tooth. There are always so many small steps to leaving the 'baby' behind and I feel this is the last one. I really shouldn't be surprised, its been loose for about 3 months but its still hard to accept. She sounds so cute, the little lisp to her speech - adorable - and she's so proud. She had to call both grandmas to let them in on her news.
We were sitting at supper, eating like every other night. Laura was eating a cob of corn and all of a sudden we hear "pfff" then 'ping'. Mike and I look at each other thinking there was a hard kernal on her cob until Laura says to me, "mom, can you see my loose tooth". I look at it and its gone. I do a hunt through the food on her plate and come up with the little tooth - so small, all by itself - but such a big milestone for my girl.

Great weekend

I got some cropping done and feel motivated and full of mojo! I also read two new books and picked up another at the library today. Some truly needed 'me' time and so happy I took a few days off to do it. I'm ready to get back to work and hopefully I'll be productive there too.
