Its so nice to be busy again but man, what a change from the last few months. I know its only temporary as the work is from Thunder Bay but wow, what a change. Of course, having all these files and still being part time is creating a whole different type of orgainizing. The extra billable time will definitely help though so I don't want to complain - just deal and get through it, right...
I haven't been scrapping over the past few days either. Maybe that would help with the feelings overwhelming me now. Good thing I'm headed to the crop tomorrow. So excited about it and hoping for some great inspiration to happen. I'll post some of my new layouts after the weekend.

A few more layouts to share
The first is a fun layout I did of my daughter when she climbed up a tree. The title is a play on the phrase "up a creek without a paddle". I cut the petals of the flowers and used pop dots to give them dimension.

This layout was completed based on a picture I took during the christmas holidays. I don't have very many 'good' photos of my girls with my mom so loved this one and the relationship it conveys. Hope you like what I was able to do with it mom.

Getting excited!!!
I know its still a week away but I am getting excited about the weekend crop I am attending. Starts next Friday and runs through to Sunday. Thirty hours of fun!!! Just picked up some great pictures today from Blacks. I'll spend the next few days focusing on making some page kits and doing some orgainizing to ensure I have all I need. I have some major packing and preparation to do over the next few days including picking up some of those snacking goodies you can't do without.
Can't wait to see all my scrapping friends again - its sure to be a blast and because its local, I still get to sleep in my own bed. A definite plus from the Camp Bill-o-wood bunks.

Another milestone
past...I have been mentioning to Laura since she returned to school in January that she could begin walking in by herself. I mention it in passing, no real pressure, just making her realize she has to start taking these steps.
Well, today was the day. She said this morning that she would like to walk in today. We talked about it. She definitely had some concern about whether I was leaving her on the street, or at the door. I decided we would drive today which would let me get her there but still keep Jenna and I out of entrance reach. So we stopped in the bus entrance. She knows many of her friends get off the bus at that same spot and walk in - I think this gave her some confidence. It certainly makes it easier for me to not have to take Jenna out of her car seat, walk Laura in and then get her all buckled back down but as I was driving home.
Howerver, as I drove home I realized with this little step she just expanded her independance. My baby is growing up - again. You never know which steps or milestones will bring on these feelings of meloncholy - I certainly didn't expect it to be this one.

Remembering summer
Why is it in the dead of winter we always reminisce on those hot, hot days of summer? You know the ones, where you are so hot you can barely breathe. You sit still just hoping for a cool breeze or a nice pool to wade through. I hate to wish away any time (so I won't wish for the summer to come quickly) but I am getting tired of the snow and cold. Last week it was so nice here, that smell of spring in the air - I hope we can continue to get as much of this weather while we continue through the winter months. While I'm thinking of the summer, I thought I would share some recent layouts I completed of pictures I took at Joan & Jack's last August.

Happy V-Day!!!
Wishing everyone a happy valentines day! Thought I'd share some pics of Laura going through her "school loot".

What a happy, happy girl she was - so excited to tell me everything she received from all her school friends and to show them all to Jenna. Lots of fun valentines, chocolates, suckers and stickers. Things certainly have changed since I was in school.

Some recent work
Here are a few layouts I have completed in the past few weeks. The first is a layout to commemorate v-day.

A few rare pics of me and Mike. Thought I'd take advantage of it while I can and get a layout completed which wasn't specific to the kids.

Here are a couple I completed of a trip to Centre Island with mom and dad last August. I usually don't get them in pictures so was happy about some of these.

Picture of Laura and grandpa, enjoying the view. I completed this for a challenge about scrapping in odd numbers. All of the items on the page are in odds (pearls, pompoms, pp, cs, journalling strips, etc.).

Ok, here we go again
I am going to try this again. If it doesn't work this time, it was not meant to be. I have started following a few more blogs and realized I may have more to say than I originally thought, or at least a few more things to share :) . I will be trying to use this as a resource where I can share my creations, pictures and news to help keep my family updated. Here's hoping its going to work this time.
